1. Carbon Nanomaterials
Carbon nanomaterials have attracted rapidly growing interests in both fundamental nanoscience research and practical applications due to their intriguing structures and excellent electronic, mechanical, and thermal properties. This sub-conference aims to highlight breakthroughs, progress, and challenges in the synthesis, structures, processing, and assembly of carbon nanomaterials, their chemical and physical properties, and their potential applications. Session topics include but not limited to: 
(1) Synthesis and processing of carbon nanomaterials (graphene, graphdiyne, carbon nanotubes, carbon nanofibers, porous carbon, graphite, hollow carbon, hard carbon, carbon black, hierarchical nanostructured carbon, nanocarbon based hybrids/composites, and so on); 
(2) Structures and characterizations; physical and chemical properties; nanocarbon based composites;

2. Inorganic and porous Nanomaterials
Inorganic nanomaterials, nano clusters, inorganic nano structures, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs) and conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) have drawn great attention by virtue of their promising properties in catalysis, gas adsorption and separation, light-emission, sensor as well as energy storage. 3. Optoelectronics and Printing Devices
Optoelectronic nanomaterials and devices have emerged as a major technology and applications domain of nanoscience and technology, such as nanoelectronics and nanophotonics based on nanomaterials and organic semiconductors. With the rapid advancing of nanoscience and nanotechnology, printing technology becomes a critical approach for electronic device manufacturing. Presently, there are continuous callings for functional printing nanomaterials and novel printing technologies; at the same time, printed devices with unprecedented functions will certainly emerge. 
Sub-conference topics include but not limited to: 
1. Molecular electronics and spintronics: Molecular scaled devices such as light-emitting diodes, field-effect transistors, memory devices, single molecular devices, molecular shuttle, molecular machines, molecular spin valves and functional spintronic devices; 2. Nanomaterials: The materials with electronic, photonic, and photoelectric or photovoltaic effect at nanoscale, photonic crystals and quantum dots; 3. Nanoelectronics and Nanophotonics: Nanofabrication, nanocircuitry, nanogenerators, bio-nano generators, photodiodes, photovoltaic devices, photoresistors, phototransistors, photomultipliers and integrated optical circuit (IOC) elements; 4. 6. Nanocatalysis
Nanocatalysis has been the center of nanoscience and nanotechnology, which benefits catalysis in profound ways. Nanostructures and nanopores allow researchers to control the dispersion of active sites, promote desired diffusion pathway of reaction species. Precise size and facet control as well as assembly of nanoparticles into hierarchical structures lead to new type of catalysts with unprecedented activity and selectivity. Well-defined photo/electrochemical properties have also broaden our abilities to use photons and (in-built) electric fields for the further applications in such as water splitting, sustainable C1 conversion, N2 fixation and pollutant degradation, the tremendous and the most exciting concerns all over the world. Nanocatalysis has become frontier in chemical synthesis, environmental protection, clean energy, etc. in the background of exhaustion of fossil fuels and carbon resources along with the gradual increase of atmospheric CO2 concentration.
Sub-conference topics include but are not limited to:
Design, preparation and characterization of nanostructured and nanoporous catalysts; Structural and catalytic characterizations; Computational modeling of reactions on nanocatalysts, especially defect-doped or faceted-catalysts. Characterization and metrology are the basis of nanoscience and nanotechnology, which aim at developing state-of-the-art techniques and accurate measurements for characterizing various nanostructures ranging from surface topographies, individual nanoparticles to bulk nanomaterials, to enable and promote applications of nanotechnology in research, development and industry. This session covers characterization and metrology of all types of nanostructures including inorganic, organic and carbonaceous.

Theoretical and computational modeling has proved tremendously successful in fields of traditional science and engineering. One of the greatest challenges for the computational community is to extend the success of computational modeling to emerging and interdisciplinary fields, in particular to nanoscience and nanotechnology. The proposed “Modeling and simulation of nanostructures” sub-conference will provide an opportunity for computational specialists to present and exchange experiences and ideas on applying theoretic methods/techniques in the fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology.

Biological and Bioinspired Nanomaterials have attracted rapidly growing interests in both fundamental nanoscience research and practical applications due to excellent chemical and physical properties and fantastic functions. This sub-conference aims to highlight breakthroughs, progress, and challenges in the synthesis, structures, processing, and assembly of biological and bioinspired nanomaterials, their chemical and physical properties, and their functions and potential applications.
Sub-conference topics include but not limited to:
1. Biomolecules assembly; 2. Nanodevices design, such as bioinspired nanomachines, etc; 3. Bioinspired supramolecular hydrogel and applications; 4. Bioinspired interfacial nanomaterials; 5. 14. Safety, Environment and Health of Nanomaterials
Nanotechnology shows great potential in environmental pollution control and remediation, and the environmental safety and impact assessment of nanomaterials is always important. It is of great importance to carefully evaluate the risks to the environment and human beings for applications of the emerging nanoproducts. This symposium aims to deliver the recent advances of nanomaterials relevant to the environmental applications and processes, human and environmental exposure, hazard identification and risk assessment and underlying toxicological mechanisms. Topics related to the improvement of biocompatibility are also welcomed.
Research topics include, but not limited to the following areas:
Environmental applications of nanomaterials (analysis of environmental pollutants, pollution control and remediation); environmental processes of nanomaterials (occurrence, transformation, fate and transport); human toxicology; nano-bio interfaces; pharmacokinetics and particokinetics; safe design of nanomaterials; human exposure to nano-consumer products (e.g. medical devices, paints, cosmetics, electronics and clothing); exposure scenarios and risk assessment of nanomaterials; ecotoxicology and risk assessment; ethical, legal and social issues of nanotechnology; methodology for analyzing the metabolism of nanomaterials in vivo/vitro; theoretical simulation of nanomaterials-biomolecule interaction and how to use this tool to better understand the safety of nanomaterials.
